CEVA Tests First 100% Electric Heavy-Duty Long-Distance Truck on Algeciras–Madrid Route

Pilot test covered 1,383 km round trip between Algeciras and Madrid on only two battery charges, avoiding an estimated one tonne of CO₂ emissions.

MADRID, Spain – November 4, 2025 – CEVA Logistics has completed its first test pilot with a fully electric truck between Algeciras and Madrid. The Windrose electric truck travelled 1,383 km round trip, with a travel time of 19 hours and two rapid charges.

The truck achieved a minimum range of 670 kilometers, with an average consumption of 1.26 kWh/km and a weight of 31 tonnes. The pilot avoided approximately one tonne of CO₂ emissions.

Building on this achievement, new pilot projects for electric trucks are expected in France, Benelux and the United Kingdom. The success of this trial is a decisive step in validating these vehicles for long-haul routes traditionally dominated by combustion engines.

"This pilot is a resounding success for CEVA and for the logistics sector as a whole. We have demonstrated that it is possible to travel long distances with fully electric vehicles, something unthinkable just a few years ago."
